Under the Twinkling Lights

It wasn't too cold yesterday so I went ice-skating with the boyfriend, my little brother, and my cousin. It was quite fun and I'm happy to say I did not fall and embarrass myself.  =D  I don't go skating except during winter so every year I have to relearn how to ice-skate. I guess it's not something I'll ever be adept at. I'm quite jealous when I see little 6-7 year-olds skate so professionally, but alas, I must be content since I can barely stop without using something for support.

The ice-skating rink we went to was a small one that's located in downtown Milwaukee. It's beautifully decorated during winter with twinkling lights wrapped around the trees so skating there at night is a delightful treat. Well, the small park areas located downtown are always nicely decorated during winter. If it wasn't so cold at night, I would wander along the streets and enjoy the view at night.

It's Still Winter

As much as I have been lusting for Spring to unravel, it snowed yesterday. It's not too bad here in the Midwest since we probably got 1-2 inches only. The East coast sure snowed though with 17-18 inches.  Wheww.

It's not that I hate snow because fresh fallen snow is strikingly tranquil and beautiful. But the matter is that I detest winter.  I don't know what to wear because I get too cold too easily.  What puzzles me is how some people can wear leggings during winter and stay warm because if I did, I'd probably freeze to death or get the flu for the duration of winter. So I'm literally dressed like an Eskimo to preserve warmth. I get terribly sad looking at my dresses, hanging so lonely in the closet. But, c'est la vie.

I'm off to the dentist so hopefully I don't get too traumatized by the experience. Stay warm!

A New Chapter

It's been such a long time since I blogged. I just lose track of time and with school and work, I sometimes forget to even visit at all. So one of my New Year's resolution is to blog more consistently on my blog.

I am ecstatic to say that over winter break, I received the best gift ever, my very fist DSLR from my mum. It's so amazing, the speed, the image quality, and the capabilities of what it can do. I will still love film cameras, but digital photography will be much more convenient and cheaper since developing film these days are terribly expensive.

Another resolution I have this year is to sew my own dress. I spend way too much money on simple dresses that I can make myself and plus, I can make something uniquely for me. I bought the Built By Wendy book and it's very friendly for first-time beginners. However, I still don't fully understand the all the technical stuff to sewing, but part of that will be due to trial and error. I really wish there was a step-by-step photo illustration or DVD that is dedicated to showing all the steps to beginners. But alas, I haven't found that book or DVD.
