Spring Blossoms
The weather has been quite cold this week, but guess what I found at the garden near my apartment? Spring blooms! The lily of the valley blooms were such a delight! I don't recall what the yellow blossoms were called, but they are also beautiful. It was pretty cold so I was only able to take my jacket off for a few minutes. And after about 15 minutes there, my hands were starting to feel numb.
I went to the garden to test out my Yashica film camera since it keeps eating up my film, and it ended up eating it again (after I tried to rewind the film). I want to do a shoot entirely in film, but my Yashica is not cooperating. There's just a soft and poignant look to film that I absolutely love. White dresses in fields of green just look absolutely beautiful on film. Skin also comes out natural and so smooth and creamy. I thought the film look would not be too hard to recreate digitally, but boy was I wrong. I can sometimes come somewhat close to it, but the looks is always a little off.....Film is somewhat fading but is anyone else a fan of film?

adorable outfit!! love the colors, its perfect for spring <3 and great photos!!
Totally agree of Yashica film camera. Too bad though I don't put enough time aside to really harness the finesse needed for film.
Love the colour palettes of your photographs and most of your outfit.
These pictures are beautiful, what amazing photography!

Thank you dears!
Joy C. - I agree. To have great film photographs, the process needs to be as perfect as possible.
i love your outfit! and your pictures. really!! who took them? you look so good in the lighting!
i love the outfit! and the spring blossoms look so pretty!
Sorry that your film camera was not cooperating, but the photos came out lovely and soft nonetheless.
I have a Diana Mini and am working on getting more comfortable with film. :)
Thanks Rachel! I did all the settings but they were taken by my boyfriend. I'm trying to teach him the basics of photography, but no such luck yet hehe.
Thanks Jenna!
Ashley - I was deciding between a Diani and a Holga, but then I decided to get the Holga instead. How is the Diana working out for you? I have been putting off developing my two rolls, but once I do develop them, I hope they turn out well. I have seen some really good and really bad Holga shots so I don't know where I fall in the range. Average, I hope. But yes, I really want to know film better as well. Even though it's expensive, I can't give it up.
